Latest DBT Courses

It’s no surprise that DBT Courses are becoming ever more popular amongst practitioners with the growing awareness and need for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder.  As a form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, the model for DBT has been especially developed to treat patients with unmanageable emotional problems. The training courses developed to improve DBT skills are helpful for practitioners who want to expand their knowledge, specialise their expertise or want to network with others from the same field of profession. Some of the latest DBT courses include:

DBT Skills Essentials Workshop – Chester- 22-23 September 2016
This two day workshop has been created for practitioners who have no previous knowledge of DBT and would like to know more about the model. You might be joining a team of intensively trained practitioners and you want to further your development in the field. It covers the four key modules which offer clients the skills to better manage a range of emotional problems. The core modules include; core mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

DBT Foundational Training – Leeds- 26-30 September 2016
The foundational 5 day training course can assist well in training clinicians who have joined an intensively trained team. Suitable for those who will be working as part of an active DBT programme; it is only for mental health professionals with qualifications. The course will look at the core standard content of DBT training, equivalent to part one of the ten day training course.

DBT Intensive Training – Maidenhead – 14-18 November 2016

This 10 day programme has specially been developed for clinicians who might have attended a previous DBT training course and would like to expand their knowledge to the highest standard for best implementation practices. Developed for an ongoing consultation team, the course isn’t suitable for individual practitioners and takes place of over two five day sessions with 6 to 9 months of self-study in-between. A range of study materials will be used in your part 1 session which aims to give you in-depth knowledge of DBT and in the self-training break, practitioners will be expected to implement their DBT Skills. Session 2 gives practitioners the opportunity to present their work and receive expert consultation, and recommended practices on their specific cases. Prior to the event, it is expected that those attended read recommended texts so there is a good understanding of basic practices prior.
